Toby

Toby is such a good boy and such a good big brother to Tyce! I can't wait until they can play together. Tyce just watches Toby all the time and cracks up laughing at everything he does. Toby is really sweet to Tyce and always acts concerned when he's upset or crying and he tries to help. I pray that they grow up full of love for each other that will carry into their adult lives. I want them to have a rock solid relationship and be there for each other always. As a grown up, my siblings have meant the world to me and I don't know what I would do without them and I pray that Toby and Tyce will have that too when they are adults.

Toby is at such a fun age right now. Everything with him is Superheros! He LOVES Batman, Spiderman, Superman, and on and on. Pretty much any superhero that fights the bad guys is his hero. It's so cute! I'm not even sure where it came from or when exactly it started. I would have to say he really started getting into Superheros a few months before he turned four but I'm still now sure where he even heard of them. It's not like Robb or I ever watched movies about them or talked about them. He must have picked it up somewhere. Now he's really into playing with the little action figures and talks for them and all. He takes play time very seriously when there are super heroes involved. It's really cute to listen to and watch him play. Me and Robb play with him as well and if we veer too far off of the subject he says, "mom, play!" in his serious little voice.

Toby is a very smart little boy for his age. He never forgets anything and I sometimes think he might have a photographic memory! He is always very observant of everything and very serious, always trying to figure things out. He likes to play and be silly of course but overall I would say his little mind is always learning and trying to figure things out.

He ADORES his dad and always has. They have a special relationship and I pray that they always will. Robb understands Toby in ways I probably don't at times. I think it's because Toby is so much like Robb in so many ways.

Toby LOVES wrestling with his dad. I don't think there is really anything he would prefer to do over that! Robb is so fun-loving with him and they run around and wrestle and play hide-n-go seek. Robb is a good dad and I love that he takes the time to play with him because that is what Toby will remember more then anything. I sometimes feel guilty myself that I don't take enough time out to just play with him. That is definitely what he needs and prefers the most.

Toby is in a Christian preschool right now that he seems to really like. He goes three days a week and I love the fact that it's a Christian school that not only teaches the ABC's but also has lessons about God every day as well. It's not cheap, but I don't think you can put a price on a good foundation in Christ. His teachers tell me he is such a good boy and a very good listener.

I think Toby at times is borderline OCD. Okay, maybe not, but he likes what he likes and how he likes it (food and all) and there is usually NO budging him from that. When he has made up his mind to something, there is almost no changing it! I would say he is VERY strong willed, which can be both good and bad at times. He is not a follower, which is good.

I just can't say enough good things about my baby boy. I still call him my baby boy even though he's four, and I probably always will. He is the one who made me a mommy and he will always hold a VERY special place in my heart. LOVE that boy!!
