Well Toby is not only five years old now but he has also started Kindergarten!! Kindergarten here is all day too so it's going to be quite an adjustment for both of us! All was well when I took him until I got back in the car with Tyce to head home. Then the tears came! I just kept seeing his cute little face when he had just started preschool at age three and I just could not believe that he was already in Kindergarten and headed off to the school years. He just isn't "mine" all day anymore and although I'm excited because he's beyond ready for it, I just felt sad like the baby years were now officially over... I keep seeing the Pooh Bear and Christopher Robin walking off into the sunset and Christopher Robin telling Pooh Bear what school is and them saying how they won't forget each other...:(
We signed him up for a private, Christian school so I feel good about that and he was so excited to start! His teacher's name is Mrs. Flores and she seems really sweet. My only concern is that it's her first year teaching Kindergarten but I'm praying for her and I'm sure she'll be fine. When I picked him up yesterday he was really excited and told me that he had a new best friend! I asked him what his name was and he looked at me with the look he gives and say, "I don't know!" Lol. I love that boy!
For his fifth birthday we did a Superhero party just here at our house and he had two little friends over for it. It was fun. Mark, Lauren, Casey and their new baby girl Sophie all came as well. We did a Spiderman pinata and every single gift he got from us was Spiderman, including the bike he got. He was so cute and excited to finally be five like his cousins (Maddy & Paul both)! It was low key and simple but a success!
